Jörg Heieck

was born in Münster in 1964 and grew up near Kaiserslautern. The artist has a doctorate in physics and studied in Frankfurt with F. Granzer and Edinburgh with P. Higgs.

He worked for several years as a scientist for Agfa, Kodak and the ITER nuclear fusion project. In 1995 he received the ITEK award from the American Society for Imaging Science.

Heieck is the father of two grown-up children and teaches physics and photography in Kaiserslautern. His photographs have been exhibited internationally and are part of private and public collections. He runs the Brownian Motion Art Space and co-curated the FotoFest Kaiserslautern. Heieck is involved in regional art projects such as Pfaffwerk Kaiserslautern and Pixxelcult Saarbrücken.

He is the author of many photography books and an appointed member of the German Society for Photography DGPh and freelens.
